Head of Coaching (UK)

At 7 Elite Academy we are the leaders when it comes to raising the bar in youth soccer. We believe this starts with our coaches. We have a roster of coaches who bring decades of experience coaching at the highest professional level. We also provide a platform for new, enthusiastic coaches to become the best they can be. Responsible to: ACADEMY DIRECTOR

Build Relationships with : Academy Director, General Manager, 7 Elite Academy (USA, UK & Africa), Foundation and Youth Development Coaches (Part Time), Administrator, Players, Parents.

Full time (40 hours) per week (Monday to Sunday)

The Technical Coordinator (TC) is expected to assume the “face of the club” role for the 7EA within Liverpool and in the U.K. The TC will lead efforts to achieve the growth and development of a variety technical programs of the 7EA for all ages and genders. Develop coaches/teams so that they improve and perform to the best of their potential and subsequently maximising the potential of the players that they work with. The TC needs a strong football background both in grassroots and professional academies along with technical expertise to lead 7EA programs. The TC is responsible to support the grassroots coaches with individual player development objectives, coach mentoring and administration support through the whole game system. The TC will also manage 7EA community programs and work alongside the Academy Director in building relationships in the communities of Liverpool.  The TC needs strong interpersonal and public speaking skills and must resolve conflict in a professional manner. The TC delivers monthly reports on the progress of the U.K Academy. The TC needs strong written and oral communication skills. The TC is a full-time salaried position requiring a non-traditional work schedule of daytime hours, evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Travel is required. The TC will have regular exposure to outdoor activities and weather conditions. The TC works towards establishing a sustainable system and approach to coach development in line with the club’s curriculum and values within their designated region. Flexible working arrangements/hours

  • Required to work outside of normal office hours, at evenings and weekends, on bank holidays and public holidays.
  • Required to support and work in different bases of 7 Elite Academy
  • Regular travel to fixtures, training sessions, tournaments, camps, meetings and other events in connection with performance of duties.

Personal Development

  • Undertake self-development to ensure knowledge in all aspects of coaching and coach development to ensure you are up-to-date and forward thinking:
  • Coach occasionally to maintain ‘hands on’ competence
  • Provide occasional cover for absent coaches
  • Set high standards on & off the pitch
  • Have exceptional personal skills to mentor others

Coach Requirements

  • Training & development of coaches using a broad range of techniques e.g. demonstrations, feedback and mentoring
  • Assist with 7EA Curriculum training sessions
  • Ensure coaches have a clear understanding and acceptance of their development needs:
  • Provide a clear, up-to-date Training Needs Analysis (TNA) of every individual program 
  • Observe coach performance and provide feedback to aid development
  • Complete Training Needs Analysis (TNA) with all coaches
  • Coach the U16’s JPL team

Tournaments & Camps

  • Ensure all tournaments and 7EA Camps are delivered within the guidelines and expectations of 7EA.
  • Lead Coach on all 7EA operating program events within your region

Development Action Plan (DAP)

  • Ensure all Head Coaches has a personalised Development Action Plan (DAP) that is tailored to meet their needs and which they buy-in to as a ‘living’ document:
  • Working with coaches to develop their abilities and potential
  • Build positive relationships with key governing bodies (Liverpool County F.A, Sefton Council, etc)

Development Programmes/CPD events

  • Design and deliver development interventions based on the Academy objectives
  • Design and deliver programmes of suitable development and CPD events

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

Essential

  • UEFA B coaching license
  • Coaching youth award/s
  • Safeguarding and protecting children
  • Basic first aid for sport (BFAS)

Desirable

  • Coach education qualification
  • Degree/Diploma in teaching and coaching sport BSc (Hons)
  • UEFA A coaching License

  • Creative technical program building
  • 1:1 coaching programs
  • Football College BTEC Programmes
  • The process of learning in coaches 
  • The process of learning in young people
  • Running and designing development programmes
  • Football (coached or played at a high level)
  • Leading a team
  • Managing people
  • Sport psychology

Have ICT experience of using excel, word and any other software as required in order to carry out the duties required for the job.

  • Have a full clean driving licence
  • DBS/DPS clearance
